Bullhorn Dragons
A breed of dragon that is flightless, and and named 'bullhorn' for the curled, bull like horns on their heads.
A small breed of dragon the makes get to 3' 4" from the head to the ground, and the females reach 2' 9", in average height. Very much a pack dragon, they travel in large herds ranging from 80 to 100 members. Each group has a central 'leader', that guides the herd to whichever 'hunting ground' suits the herd's needs best, as well as co-ordinates how to protect the herd. Herds consist of more males than females, in fact the rate of male births is higher than the rate of female births.
Make and Females have distinct differences, that being the size of the bullhorns, and the spike mane. Females have a small spike mane that end at their bullhorns, where has the males can have spike manes that go down to the base of the shoulders. The age of a male bullhorn can be determined by the length of their spike mane. The spikemane, also serves a critical purpose for the male bullhorns. The spikes on the spikmane are somewhat soft, and re-grow all the time. This is used when ramming, as it helps 'cushin' the impact of the highspeed headbutt, as well as do considerable damage to whatever they're attacking, as the horns break off on impact. Of course, one or two headbutts, and the bullhorn will be unable to attack again without hurting itself. They rely on a single powerful strike to subdue the enemy, if it fails they are open for attack, making them easier meals for the preditor than the females or fledglings.
Bullhorn dragons come in a few colors, green, brown, and yellow, Occationally a reddish brown.
